Mark holds a J.D. from University of California at Berkeley, Boalt Hall School of Law, an MBA from Harvard University, Graduate School of Business and a BA, Economics, 1977 (Phi Beta Kappa) from Rutgers College, Rutgers University.
Mark has been an advisor to hundreds of startups but he has also formed several ventures of his own including Campamericana, a global travel operator based in Brussels, Belgium, and the International Trade division of the Harper Group, a fortune 500 company. He formed several law firms including
White Summers Caffee & James
, White & Altman, Carr, DeFilippo, White & Ferrell and White & Lee. Mark is a founder and a Managing Director of Wampumm LLC, a business consulting firm.

Over the span of 20 years Mark has represented companies in well over 500 financings, including numerous venture capital and angel investments in high-tech startup companies. As well as representing many startups such as Tesla Motors and Hotmail, Mark has represented Silicon Valley investors such as New Enterprise Associates, Leap Frog Ventures, Bluerun Capital, Band of Angels, Silicon Ventures and ATA Ventures. Internationally, Mark has acted for ChinaVest (China), Sunstone Capital (Denmark), FinaVentures (France), TechInvest (Ukraine), Fidelity Venture Capital (Europe), Conor Venture Capital (Finland), Bootstrap Labs Fund (Nordic + E. Europe), Chalmers Innovation Fund (Sweden) and Enveready (Spain).
